Monday night my cousins and I were watching Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and saw a restaurant in Tampa, FL called California Tacos.
It is very rare to see restaurants featured on Food Network or the Travel Channel that are close to Lakeland. So, yesterday we went out to Westshore for some shopping and then went over to California Taco’s.

The lady there was extremely helpful! She walked us through the menu, explained everything, let us try some samples, and gave us a bag of California Veggies.

My cousin and I had ordered two amped tacos with tempura grouper. It was AMAZING. The grouper had such a great taste that was not very greasy and overwhelming like most fried fish. The taco shells were soft and crispy, which added a delightful crunch. The toppings were fresh and the sauce they put on it was EXCELLENT.

It was a great experience and well worth the drive. I will definitely be back! I ordered two amped tacos with pork that I brought back to my brother. They ended up forgeting his drink and accidently put guacamole on his tacos, so he missed out on a lot of other good toppings that were stuck to the guacamole. Overall, he said it was very good and spicy and he would try their food again.
